Going to get a pair of Costa Del Mar's. I appreciate that some of you prefer other manufacturers and I have some others, but this is for Costa owners only please. I hear the Green Mirror lenses are the best overall for fishing. What are your preferences? I like a bigger frame so which do you recommend? Glass or plastic lenses? Also, who has the best prices you have found? Thanks for your input!

Green mirror is great! The silver sunrise mirror is pretty dang good too. Def go with the glass lens. Little heavier but better than the plastic. For bigger frames I like the Blackfin model. I have a huge head and they fit well and block out a almost all of the light.

Lense Color ComparisonShort and sweet on what colors do and how they work from Costa themselves I'm personally not a fan of glass, just because they are heavier and hurt the bridge of my nose. I have several pairs and the plastic get the job done and are far more comfortable.

I like the Rincon with the green glass. I have a huge head and these fit me best. Big squared off lenses . They have a good sale going on right now but they’re sold out of a lot.

I have a few pairs of Costas...I found my favorite to be the Fantail in 580g green mirror. The only issue as stated above is the weight. If you have a hat that sits lower and pushes the frame arms down along with the weight of glass, it gives me a headache.
I will be looking to get a pair of the 580p Fantails to use on the boat to compare against my glass lenses.

if you use a Health savings account, you can get them through an optometrist on that account. I have a few pair that I bought from a guy that had to use up his money or lose it. so he bought them, and I paid him for them. great deal for us both.

I will be looking to get a pair of the 580p Fantails to use on the boat to compare against my glass lenses. I have two pairs of the fantails for that exact reason. Initially bought glass, but they killed me, so I got a pair in plastic and never looked back. There is definitely a slight difference in clarity, but not enough to justify the higher price and pain. That said, plastic will scratch if you don't tend to take care of sunglasses.

I have 2 pairs of green mirror but I kind of find myself liking the silver mirror a little better. I like the colors better through the silver mirror plus I like the way it looks a little more. Both are good though.

I wear blue mirror when fishing unless I am sight fishing then I change to green mirror. I prefer silver mirror for off the water stuff like driving and daily use. I also have tried both types in regards to poly lenses and glass lenses. I prefer poly and do not see a noticeable improvement on clarity with the glass.

I have a fat head, so it Is hard to find frames that fit. The Costa Permit frame is the only frame I use. I have tried the green lens several times and they give me a headache. I like the blue lens and I always get glass. I also have the silver for driving. I get mine on EBay. I scored a “Used” Permit with glass lens, never worn, that was given as a gift. I paid $65. He was selling it because he did not have a fat head and they did not fit lol.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Just got a pair at BPS 20% off, and they are non prescription with a bifocal, so I don't have to put cheaters on anymore to tie knots.

Green 580p are the best I bought green and blue and bronze to try them out.
I also have green 580g Glass and they are heavy and make my nose hurt after a while those are in my boat to loan out.. The glass and plastic dont seem any different to me in quality or vision.
I get mine on ebay, FANTAIL frames are what I use I think its one of the bigger coverage ones unless they have came out with new since I went to bps and tried them all, for your big head youll likely have to heat them in the middle w a hair dryer and open them up a little. Before I did that mine gave me a bit of a headache and I dont have a big head.

The plastic ones are lighter but much more scratch prone. If you are a responsible adult and properly store them when not in use you'll probably be okay. I am not, so I stick to glass. I use copper lenses with green mirror for everyday use. In low light I use silver sunrise (sunrise/sunset/cloudy). I believe my frames are blackfin.

Costa has their blue lenses all 30% off through Wednesday I believe and free expedited shipping. Everything else is 20% off. Are the blue lenses good enough for the extra 10%? Other than some really specific frames on Sierra or backcountry I can’t seem to find a better deal right now. Costa Sale

I have a pair Diego’s . My first pair of Costa’s They are 580g I like them until I start running when I get over 55-60 they want to come off. Got to get a different pair just for that reason. Thinking fantails, really don’t want to go back to Oakley’s but I got to have a pair of glasses that stay on my face .

Just ordered a pair of fantail 580G green from Costa website. 20% off. Have a pair of 580p blue and can't hardly see through them for the scratches. They have been so very easy to scratch. Don't think I'm overly abusive to them, but disappointed in how soft the coating is on the poly lens. Blue is very dark so I'm trying the green this time.

I wear Icycles for every day use, my costa are just in my boat and never scratched or used except for fishing. The Icycles you can buy replacement lenses for and he has great sales so Ill buy 3-4 sets of lenses at a time.... Ive had the same frames and a back up set of frames since 2009.. Lenses are 55 a pair I belive full price, sales they are almost half.
