Had 2 trips this week and with working full time that’s about all I will do during the week. Met Roy in Tyler for an instructional trip. He’s had Livescope since Feb but didn’t know how to use it. I told him to head us to something he fished regularly and once there I adjusted his settings and showed him what he was looking at. 3 piles later he had his limit of slabs in the live well. Never been on Tyler before so we looked at a few docks and caught fish off them and headed in! He looked like a kid on Christmas morning after that! Those fish are in trouble!!

Trip and his son AJ were in Tyler And called me to see if we could get AJ on some slabs. Trip likes to crappie fish and was hoping we could get AJ into it as well. They’re both good fisherman. I met them on Palestine after lunch and away we went. We didn’t have a lot of time cause they needed to get back to Houston. We hit several brush piles and yanked little fish and barely keepers off them in several areas of the lake. My trolling motor was acting up and would shut off above 4 power for some reason and I was having trouble holding in the wind. Finally it laid completely and away we went into the timber. After really stinking it up for the first 2 hours with 6-8 fish in the box we ended up cleaning 31 crappie and 2 catfish! They both had their PB crappie! AJ said his biggest was 13” prior to today. He landed a 14.5 and 14” fish I think on the same tree. Timber in 18-28’ fishing 12-16’ deep was the ticket for us. 1/8oz Hand tied jigs on Limits Tackle heads in grey and chart and white got us bit and the Jenkos has no trouble swinging em in the boat. Thanks for fishing with me guys! Enjoy your fish fries!!

Man that was just what the doctor ordered! Caught fish everywhere we went today! I wanted to keep enough for fish tacos at the office tomorrow but we ended up just stopping when the cooler was full and tossed em back after that! Even had a couple hybrids in the mix! They put up a heck of a fight on an 11’ crappie rod and 1/8oz line! I still have a couple weekend days and weekdays I could fish in June. Let me know if you want to get in on the action! I gotta get with Steve at Limits Tackle soon and order some more heads! After this weekend Frank will be getting some calls as well for the Jenko KR rods!? Folks were impressed with them!!

Todd's report doesn't do the day justice!!! Man it was sooooo awesome!! Thank for helping make incredible memories with my son!!
Folks, I grew up bass fishing and got into salt a couple decades ago. Have our own boat and fish around Houston. I love crappie and have really tried learning how to fish for them the last year or so. My son is a fishing addict but loves bass and salt and hammering little bluegill in the bayou!!! Just couldn't get him going on crappie even when we had a couple of decent trips. Also fished with guides from TX to FL. Took the boat for warranty work near Fork and decided to hire our first crappie guide on our way home.
Take that all into consideration and I have to say Todd was 1000% incredible. It's the little things that make a difference. Safety. Communication. Equipment. Service. Todd has it all in spades.
yes, we caught fish at every single stop. Yes we got a lot of slabs. Yes we both got our personal bests. My son got the 2 biggest of his life off the same tree about 5 minutes apart!! So the day was awesome. But what that day has kept providing...memories, future plans, knowledge to make us better fishermen, etc have continued to pay dividends.

Can't wait to get on the water with Todd again.

p.s. wife is super jealous
