actually been a Ranger owner since 1996 and they are awesome fishing platform in every respect....

Pros best fishing boat there is. Both in deck size, tracking, non kiting.
The 520 and 521 both are good rough water boats.
Seldom have any problems with hinges, wiring etc.

Not sure on why people say not fast boat, mine is a 520 v with an E2 250 and it will run 72. That is as fast as about any stock boat made. Yes there are faster but a 20 foot boat that runs 70 is pretty par for that size boat.
As far as the comment about JM not keeping spare parts this simply is not true. I can’t remember the last time I ordered a part and they did not have it. At a fair price.

There are a lot of great boats on the market and Ranger is definitely one of the premium brands.

Pros- you’ll look like you have money.
Cons- you won’t because you spent it on a Ranger

Pros: Good fishing platform, very large front deck, in the past best built boat, very high quality

Cons: Johnny M owns them now so the quality will go down despite what all the current Ranger sheeple say, very slow boat that takes time to get on plane but does have a somewhat comfortable ride but it should ….. it weighs a ton

Don't forget, you get to glare at everyone from behind the wheel or as you fish because you run a Ranger..... can't put a price on that! roflmao

You mean the boat builder whose website even today says their new .204 is "COMING FALL OF 2019?"" roflmao

I wanted a .204 but gave up and got a new Ranger last fall (incompetence is my pet peeve). I have had a 520, Z20, and now a Z519 and RT178. All I can say is you will not be disappointed. They may not be perfect in every respect, and you might have some issues here and there, but you will in any boat. They have always taken care of my issues through the years.

Very happy with my 521. If you're into speed don't buy a Ranger. I sure like having the extra room and storage on the 521 vs the 520. Great ride/build. Just a personal opinion, but I think they stand the test of time better than any other brand-- build quality, looks, resale, etc. When people look for a used boat I don't think you will find too many that have "Ranger" crossed off their list of potential options. Just things to consider.

Any company can go belly up, but Ranger is probably going to be around a while.

[quote=WLBDallas]I tested a Skeeter and Ranger in rough and smooth water. I don't think there is a boat that rides as well as the Ranger.

Pros:
Best ride out there
Great storage
Great in rough water
Easily get to 70 MPH
Storage lids have soft close
Compartments seal well, no water
Fans actually dry out the compartments
Best resale value
Wide console for 15" Solix

Cons:
Bearings on trailer
Not the fastest boat on the water
You have to respond to everyone who says how awesome your boat is......

Honestly, I have no issues whatsoever. I've had a few parts that needed to be replaced and they were ordered and installed within 2 days. Their warranty coverage is incredible and I haven't spent a dollar outside of the warranty. I'm sure I paid for this on the purchase price......but they have been great to deal with. That Skeeter Apex is pretty cool too, but they porpoise at low speed and are pretty tough in 4-6 ft rollers.

Best ride. Lol

pros - marketing, many believe it is a good boat.

cons - its a ranger, compared to other similar sized boats they are slow, wet and will destroy your back.

most bass boats are good fishing platforms other wise they would not be in business.
