Thanks for the heads up. I keep getting an update notice that I have avoided. Anyway to get this notice to go away?

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Thanks for the heads up Robert. I backed up all photo and video files, documents etc. To an external Seagate drive. What is the best SYSTEM RECOVERY method? USB recovery drive? Win Backup has never worked for me before. If the system crashes, how can you get it to boot from say, a USB drive or a DVD or an extenal usb connected drive?

Thanks Robert for the heads up!
I am at my brother's shop now hoping to check out their shop desktop and see if that update has been loaded and to make sure auto update is turned off. And to be sure back ups are current.

I'm one of those guys that likes to wait 6 or 8 weeks to maybe never for loading any update. In case they are buggy for phones or computers and leave time till any problems have been fixed for a while.
Don't know if this is good or bad but that's what I do.

Question for everyone - anyone on here been affected by this KB4556799 update and what all did it mess up?

You can add Print Spooler Service stopping for no reason to the list of symptoms. Just fixed a system at a remote site that had been fighting that problem for several days by removing that update. Had to send a tech over there this morning for some other issues and that turned out to be the solution for this problem.

Since I had nothing else to do I went ahead and updated my personal system, no issues to report here.

I was surprised to find all my custom windows settings still in place thumb
