I have never fished or been on this lake before. I am planning a trip to check it out and have a couple of questions. First, is it the typical east texas lakes full of stumps and trees? If so, is there an area of the lake that is runnable? What area of the lake is hazardous? Just let me know where to watch out and not run and where it is okay to run please. And while you are at it, if you want to divulge any secret fishing spots for bass, go ahead and just PM those to me. Any heads up are appreciated. Thanks

You can run anywhere you want below the island. North of the island stay to the right of the river all the way up to alley creek. Everything else north of that and to the left of the river from the island up is full of stumps. There are boat lanes marked with poles but they don’t begin until about 2 miles past alley creek. I wouldn’t recommend running to them unless somebody on the lake shows you how to get there. There is plenty of fishing to do below alley and they are biting pretty good!

Also, you can launch on the north end at cedar springs ramp and there are boat lanes directly in front of it about 100 yards. Stay beside the poles whichever side it says to and you’ll be fine but do not run outside of where the poles tell you to you won’t have a lower unit lol

Be careful going into any of the 3 big creek arms up north. There is a boat row that runs N-S where the red line is and then one that runs E-W from psst Alley Creek to the 155 bridge. Watch around the island like mentioned but otherwise really OK to run all of the stuff east towards the dam. The map I posted isn't the greatest but couldn't find the other one I had. The lake had tons of options no matter how you like to fish. Shallow or deep fish how you want!

That is a Very good description. I hope you don't mind a little touch up, but there is a big time stump field West of Watts Island, which I circled in yellow. The NorthWest end of the lake, accessed from the Hwy 155 ramp, you need to stick to the marked boat lane or idle.

OH yeah good call!! I hug that island pretty good but yeah there is a big stump field out there.
as you head into the Hurricane creek arm there is timber way out in front of the bridge so stay to the right side.
