Was pulling out my only G loomis rod and the lid to my rod locker fell on the tip. You can quess the rest. Broke about 10 inches down from the tip. Anybody know if BPS will replace them or am I SOL (or more like SO360 dollars?)

Do I have to go through G loomis or can they do it at BPS. And is it even salvagable?

GLoomis will repalce for $50. But who knows the rod locker broke it? Setting the hook and it broke. And I'm sticking to that answer. Take it back to BPS and see what happens. If it came from Academy---no questions asked--go get a new one.
I broke one yesterday on a hookset and broke in the middle of the rod.

No need to lie---at the $50 express replacement, no questions are asked. Only if you try to get it completely free, which you would if the rod was really defective.
Over the years, I've replaced four--paid my $50 bucks each time (all broke through my error) --and no questions asked.

BPS will not replace it. You will need to go through Loomis to get a replacement.

G loomis has the best customer service. Just go to website and follow the instructions. You'll have a replacement rod in about 10 days, no problem. I've broken my fair share for a variety of reasons and they have always come through.
One thing I've been doing is breaking the rod down into 2 - 3' sections even through it's broke at the tip. This will greatly reduce the shipping costs since it's based on length. I called G Loomis and asked them before I did it the first time. They had no problem with it.

I have only used their expeditor service and it is super fast. $50(all shipping included) and you have a new rod no later than 2 days. If the rod breaks because of defect, you can send them the rod and get one for free, but I'm sure it would take longer.
Now, if I could just keep my buddy's from breaking my Loomis rods...... RangerRick, Hydro Sports and Big Ten you know what you did!!!!!!!!!!
