My understanding is Channels are in the rip rap this time of the year. Looking to take my sons from the bank somewhere near Fort Worth. Grapevine, Eagle Mountain, ? Any advice on rig to use? And where the best places might be?
Thanks!

Go watch some of these videos. He has several where he is fishing from the bank on the rocks.

There should start being some around rip rap for a while but I'm catching them along reeds/cattails/cover in 4-5 fow with mud bottoms and killing it so if you try the rocks and don't have much luck don't be afraid to look elsewhere. Throw some range cubes and/or milo out and give a spot 30 minutes max and keep moving.

FYI I do NOT sour my milo and it works really well without being foul. I prefer to throw some range cubes out because they almost immediately start to dissolve and put lots of scent in the water and is probably 90 plus % gone in 15 minutes. The milo does not dissolve and stays there until the fish eat it which is better for the longer term. However I have tried just plain fresh milo without range cubes and didn't notice any difference than with range cubes or not....just a preference.

I did well fishing the rocks last week. I used shrimp under a cork about 2 ft down. Casted to the rocks and they pulled it under. Never done it before but it was fun! I think they are on about any rocks you can find.

I may go Wednesday after work. I just need to find rocks at a good catfish lake. I don't want to take the boat unless I have to

This is the beginning of my favorite time of year. We have large bluffs all along the Tennessee River. These bluffs have lots of crevices that hold catfish during the spawn. We vary the depth on four rods, usually between 5 and 10 feet deep and using the tm drift along these bluffs at the slowest possible speed. Those cats will dart out and grab the bait. When I lived in Oak Point, I drifted Danny Kings or cut shad over any rock pile I could find.
