Crazy.
I have no idea why Elliot pitted.
Cost him the win. If he would have stayed out, they would have all come in and then he would have been restarting against them on tires that were 60 laps old. He would have sunk like a rock. He was in a lose/lose position there. Not all would've come in. He'd have 10 cars between him and those with 4 tires. None of those cars were as fast as him and could not have picked up as many spots as he did in a lap and a half. Which was impressive, but that call was conservative and that seldom wins a race anymore. Loses lots of races lately. I think the only thing he possibly would have had to gain by staying out would have been clean air. Would that have been enough? Who knows, but I doubt it. Water under the bridge at this point. If that #24 tire would have just held on for 2 more laps until Chase took the white flag he would have been money. On another note, Jimmie was so close to breaking a triple digit winless streak tonight. Sooo close. Those Hendrick cars were all dialed, though. They'll get another crack at it on Wednesday.

The 48 just got DQ'd in post race inspection. There goes that 2nd place finish.

Since he wasn't losing ground to the field before the caution came out I would have stayed out and took my chances.
I'm sure had they seen him stay out they would have made a mad dash for the pits.
Either way his team mate unintentionally skeerude him.

Wrong...I used to live there. Played junior high football for the Concord High Spiders. It is pronounced Con cord.

Wrong...I used to live there. Played junior high football for the Concord High Spiders. It is pronounced Con cord. He's probably the guy who asks for directions to "downtown" Charlotte, too.
