Need some places to try on Lake Whitney The guy who is doing some work on my boat lives in Clifton about 4miles form the dam. I am picking it up frieday after noon. He is an old guy and wanted to catch some cats to fry up for a small gathering Sunday. I figure since he change me nothing to do the work. I would take hime fishing when I go. I think its fair deal. Lower unit resealed for some fishing trips. I have never been on the lake was hopping someone could point me so some timber or area for channel cats. I have soured milo and some cheese Doug some punch bait any help would be great thanks

Try the far bank across from the state park boat ramp out to the point and small island.

On the bank across from the boat ramp, down to the point, and around the island in the bottom left corner of the picture. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/05/full-107020-52636-807cfce9_8548_4cdc_a645_bc85aaa4a588.png)

That's a good suggestion by Osbornfishing. Another good spot to try is the Whitney Creek area, which is over toward the other end of the State Park. (boat ramp is on the west end of the park) I don't do a whole lot of catfishing, but I'm on Whitney a couple of times a week chasing stripers and sand bass. There seems to be a good population of channel cats, I caught two yesterday, 18-19" eating-size, while trolling ratl-traps.
