I have a small crack on the upper part of the transom on my aluminum boat. Can anyone recommend a good place in North Texas area to get this fixed? Thanks

How big is the crack? My experience with aluminum I that when you repair/weld it, its only a matter of time before it breaks again in the exact same spot. Make sure and reinforce it.

just find a welding shop that can weld aluminum, 1" is nothing but should be fixed. if in a corner you may need gussets added for strength.

I just had about a 5" crack in the bottom of my Tracker welded at Cox Welding in downtown Plano. Brought it by 1 morning and he got it done in an hour. He has years and years of boat experience, I would take mine back if I had to.

Check the inside of the transom for any busted welds and such also. My xpress was cracking the welds on the transom that attached the top cap. I had alot of vibration damage and it was discovered that the welds on the inside were cracked due to poor instalation of the jackplate. After the shop fixed that issue I have not had other issues with the other welds.
