i thought this was an open fishing forum , you guys that dont like his information or post keep rubbernecking like a car crash . yall crack me up, if yall were the ones screwed out of money and opportunity i dont think you would be singing the same tune..yall like a bunch off B3514ches So who was screwed out of money or opportunity? Unless maybe Big O is doing all this bashing because he wasn;t invited to fish BPT I don't see anyone posting on here that was screwed out of anything. I dang sure have not seen a post from one the BPT fishermen saying they have been screwed. Have you? And it is an open forum so we can all state our opinions if we don't like the way a guy is bashing something. And Big O has turned especially obnoxious about his favorite subject. Obession is not good for the soul, it will wear you down and everyone else around you.
Retirement best job ever.

According to a press release, “The total Classic Week attendance of 122,814 was recorded at a variety of activities across Alabama, including the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in Birmingham, daily takeoffs on Lake Guntersville and the inaugural Huk Bassmaster B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series powered by TourneyX presented by Abu Garcia on Logan Martin Lake in Pell City.”
So over the course of the week Big O.
Talladega has packed in close to 175,000 in a day in years past.
Sorry to burden you with facts that don't support your narrative.
I noticed that too. Cumulative attendance of several events over the course of a week, counting the same people several times is a questionable way to constitute a “record.” And, Big O, weren’t you recently saying the PR person for MLF should be looking for a new job because you disagree with one of their press releases? Now you’re putting the onus on the Alabama Chamber of Commerce, or whatever organization out out the claim that you presented to us as fact as yet another dig at MLF, and we should take it up with whoever wrote it? You’re too much, man. Your bias and head-in-the-sand nature are incredible.

This will be a great opportunity for the FLW anglers. They will get a bigger platform to be showcased. They’re not losing out on any points for their championship and have added money. Even if BPT guys are the top 10, that guy in 11th gets the points as if he won.
The bass fishing world will get a chance to know anglers such as Ron Nelson, Miles Burghoff & others who have been killing it but no one knows who they are. Let’s be honest, the majority of the “big named” fisherman have always been at BASS other than 15-20 guys at FLW. This might be just what some of the anglers need to take their career to the next level.

That 11th place guy would have been the champion otherwise with more than points to show for it, like more money and the trophy, and that may be the boost he needed to take his career to the next level.

True competitors would never have that mindset. They want to compete against the best and measure themselves against that.

Mark Jones, I would agree, and I've been in a semi similar situation once. A whole lot smaller scale where my livelihood was not at stake, I was motivated by it though and I won first place and big bass in that situation. It was perfectly within the rules that where set in place before the season even got started on that one particular tournament as it was a bass club open night tournament on Toledo Bend where a member could enter with a guest who wasn't a member. One member showed up with a well known T Bend guide. That is like very low level tournament fishing compared to BPT and FLW, but no rules where changed and I was not forced into it mid season.
So! since we agree on that , Do you agree with the following:
True tournament organizations would not do what has been done here with BPT and FLW and change rules and format. True tournament anglers would not agree with running over pre established rules and formats for the sake of TV air time and greed.

I 100% agreed with those statements in late Feb early March. In this current climate on May 21st, I don't agree with them. I agree with survival and adapting to the current situation which is unprecedented in our lifetimes.

Fair enough. Thanks for answering. I do understand that way of thinking concerning fishing tournaments and I feel the same way when I'm fishing one. My tournament fishing is not how I make my living though and this kind of hit me like restaurants verses Home Depot and who is essential and who is not. Who wins and who loses type decisions made higher up the ladder that benefits some and hurts others. Maybe that was the wrong way to look at it. I'll remain open minded from here on out.
I do hope an FLW angler wins though, just for the heck of it.

I guess the MLF contract that keeps them from fishing B.A.S.S. does not apply to them fishing FLW

I guess the MLF contract that keeps them from fishing B.A.S.S. does not apply to them fishing FLW I tried to explain this to Big O, but you’re not really under the impression it makes sense for MLF to want anglers to fish BASS tournaments, right? During an unprecedented era where a virus shut down the globe, organizations and companies, especially young ones, are just trying to survive.

True competitors would never have that mindset. They want to compete against the best and measure themselves against that. Yeah right, why don’t you challenge Michael Jordan to a game of one on one to the tune of $5k. I’m sure you’ll have a chance, if you’re a real competitor, that is.
