Try the upper lake towards the river around the marinas and fish houses that are at the resorts near the big town of Tow. Plenty of shad in the mornings. They can sometimes be netted on very calm afternoons and evening but the lake has to be pretty glassy. They are pretty small though think quarter to fifty cents piece sized shad rather than the larger 3 to 4 inch ones.

They are running the banks all over Buchanan. Yesterday afternoon they were stacked in the cove at Big Chief.
