Has anyone ever used Kevin Stubbs to guide on the Guadalupe? My father is coming into town and we are looking at using him as a guide for a day trip. Any thoughts would be great.

Yes, I've fished with Kevin several times and he guided my son and me on the Guad the day my middle son caught his PB rainbow, a six pounder. Kevin is a very knowledgeable, experienced guide who has lived on the river for years and been a great steward of the river and the fishery. He's also a prince of a guy and great to be around -- a patient and gifted teacher who will give you a great day on the river.
If you use him, tell him Mick said hi.

Alvin Dedeaux would be my first choice but Kevin is a good guy and a good guide.

I will also vouch for him. Good guy, he's got it together.

This thread comes up when searching Kevin Stubbs so thought it would be worth updating to protect people considering being future customers.
Read the fine print of agreeing to fish with him. His terms and conditions allow him to cancel your trip at any time for any reason. I’m aware of 2 groups that have had this happen and he’s told them tough luck no deposit back. I’m not a lawyer, he may be contractually in the right, but this isn’t how a person with morals conducts business. I know I would never reward him with my hard earned money if he shows such little respect for his customers.

I was supposed to go on a trip with Kevin Stubbs - he cancelled on us a few days before the trip that we had booked 7 months in advance, did not offer to reschedule and refused to refund our deposits- BEWARE

I've read enough. Doesn't sound like anyone I would want to hang out with or fish with.

What’s going on here? 4 posts by first time posters all to talk about this one fishing guide? I don’t believe this is legit.

I’ve been a member for a while, just not a contributor and have moved out of state. Flysouth basically said the same thing I did before they decided to edit. Bottom line is there have been a couple interactions posted on other forums with Kevin Stubbs and he has shown himself to be someone I would never wish to do business with. A little adversity comes along and people show their true colors. Kevin’s are pretty ugly.
This thread was the top one that popped up on google so I thought it would be worth while to let others know what they are possibly getting themselves into before they decide to book with him.

Flysouth basically said the same thing I did before they decided to edit. I should have given a reason for my edit. I came on here to give my opinion after reading some comments on other forums. I've since witnessed this strange internet shark frenzy / cyber bullying against Kevin Stubbs from people who are complete strangers to the involved parties. Its one thing for the affected party to leave a negative review to warn or caution others, but when un-involved, complete strangers start leaving negative reviews in an effort to ruin someone's business....that just doesn't seem right to me and I didn't want to contribute to that...so I deleted my first post.

I think he is a top notch guide, and a better human being.
