Welcome to the forum. Some of the folks that fish from boats should be on here soon to give you slabbing tips.

I think the top water bite may be good right now from what I have read in the past week. See the search button at the top? Do a search in this forum searching for Texoma in the subject and message to see what has been hot on Texoma.

Go to the Six Old Geezers site. They are dedicated to Texoma striper fishing. There is a lot of good information there.

Welcome aboard, averagem. As TB said, doing a search should give you enough to read for a while until one of the guides or regulars who fishes the lake can help.

slab fishing hit and miss right now but 2 weeks top the "run" will kick off.all the shad will get run around by the fish.what i mean is the shad balls will be getting demolished in 40-90ft of water.good graph a must!1st locate fish and bait with the "look",drop a 1 to 2oz slab beneath the fish and burn it back to the boat.you will KNOW when you get a strike lol.also be prepared for hits on the fall and while burning it up throbs or pauses can help entice.always have a topwater ready they can blow-up anytime...

Thanks Chris, I assume water that deep is going to be near the damn.
I haven't done top water in about 2 years. A friend took me and we had a blast. I had never experienced anything like that in my life. That got me hooked on Striper Fishing. Well, we got a boat and now I'm trying to figure out how to take my kids and put them on fish that they can catch. (Bordum Sets in Very quickly, if you know what I mean.)
Another guy has told me that Slabbing is one of the Funnest things he has done, and recommended I try it..

How about the Top Water bite? Any consistancy with that, or more hit and miss right now...

Ok J.D. right on this one...worked our buts off for 9 fish and other boat had 12.very windy and nothing really schooled up for us.caught a few diaper striper's shallow and the fish we kept were nice.boats w/ bait did catch em so the run's are close but still not consistant.every fish but 2 took slab on the drop.will fish bait tomorrow which is still very hard to get.temp 74-76 elev 623.84
