Went out today and had an ok day with a bunch of small stripers. It got me to thinking though, when you’re fishing a ledge structure, like we were most of the morning, do you typically want to be on the side where the wind/current is blowing into it or off of it? Most of the fish we caught were coming off a flat in 15 ft going into 30 ft. I didn’t know if that is an actual pattern to pay attention to or just something unique to our experience today.

I've caught them both ways, but prefer to cast from the shallower side to deeper side. That way it is easier to keep the lure closer to the bottom, where the fish are.

While I do slab, I was mainly talking about from a trolling standpoint, making it where casting isn’t much of a concern.
