I know everybody's stressed out but really ?

Store opens at 6 am . At 6:15 I ask a customer if he needed any help .

Customer : " I tried to get some help over there but the mofos couldn't answer my questions . This place ain't worth a sh*t".

Me: "OK" . I could feel his eyes burning into my back as I walked away .

Customer 2 : "I want to buy a lawnmower but how do we get it out of here ? Do I need a cart or something ? " This was a 35ish year old man .

Me: "I'll go get you a cart to put the box on ." OK , not rude but a sad commentary on the utter helplessness of today's adults .

Customer 3 : " You had some ceiling fans right here 2 years ago . Can you tell me where they are now? "

Me: "No idea, ma'am . If we still have that model it should be here on the shelves . "

Customer gave me a look somewhere between disgust at my ignorance or wishing me eternal torment . Still not sure .

Then I met her buddy .

Customer 4 : "I want this ceiling fan but the light looks dim . How can we make it brighter? "

I take her over to the light bulb aisle and proceed to school her on wattage , lumens , etc.

Customer : " Can this ceiling fan use regular-sized bases instead of ceiling-fan bulbs ?" (She's asking about standard versus candelabra base. .)

Me: "I don't know . "

Before I could finish my sentence about checking what size bulbs her fan required , she yells out " I need someone who knows about fans to help me!!!!!!!!!"

Told her I'd page somebody and left .

Maybe it's just me but I feel we need to treat each other with respect .

Serious Question: Do you guys carry outdoor ceiling fans? We just had a front porch built and are needing two. Having a hard time finding ones we I mean my wife likes.

Can't promise the wife won't ask any stupid questions.....LOL

My son is going back to his home improvement store retail job, but he volunteered for the overnight shift prepping pick up orders for customers. He is so glad he isnโ€™t going to be face to face with customers anymore

People in general are very rude. I moved here from New Orleans, where even eye contact was discouraged. Went to Home Depot here to pick up supplies for the new house. A lady struck up a conversation while waiting to check out. I spent forever trying to figure out what her angle was and was she going to ask me for money.

She was just a very nice Lady that lived in the Country and didn't see very many people, kinda lonely.

Follow up question: Has anyone ever bought an outdoor ceiling fan and the blades didn't warp over time? Do the metal blades last for the duration or do they rust/deteriorate after a couple of years?

At Lowe's I hear all kinds of rudeness from customers, lack of knowledge from store help, and also good help from the workers. Friday I was in there and wanted some liners for my tool box drawers. I was looking and a guy asked what he could help with. He took me to them, and then told me where the other ones were that are bigger and cheaper, and showed me those. I thanked him, got two rolls of them and went to the electrical section. I was asked by the electrical guy there what I was looking for. I told him an old work box, and he said he hadn't heard of them so they must not have them. I reached down, got one and showed it to him, he replied with "huh". At the register a woman was giving the cashier the what for because a plant she bought three weeks prior had died in its pot before she had time to plant it. I laughed at that one.
