All those 1.5 pounders should be pushing 2 by October! Only thing I love more than fishing boat to boat for some 2lb fish is sitting in fog so think that you can't see your trolling motor, and then you hear it...... Some genius saying screw it, I'm putting it on pad!......Bass boat version of Russian roulette! Good times! Can't wait.

https://www.facebook.com/LuminantPowerIt is up on their Facebook page also. I talked to some of the ones involved in the decision and given the choices of leaving it shutdown at no cost, running at a loss being open all year or cost neutral operating six months of winter I think it is a good compromise. Being closed to fishing when a good part of the lake is over 100 could only be good for the bass. No one knows why larger bass numbers have dropped. Tilapia, Tournament pressure or just a normal lake cycle have all been guessed. I even heard the popularity of the Ned rig causing gut hooks could be.The weird thing is the number of 2-3 pound bass seem to be increasing while 5-6 pound bass are much fewer. They also changed to 3 days a week instead of 4 so one day less pressure. The hours are longer when they are open so tournaments do not have to end early right when the winter afternoon bite just gets started. Off the water at 5:30 and gate closed at 6:00 pm.
