Launched at 276 bridge at 6:30am and it was already rough water! Caught Shad very easy at the dock. Headed towards the east side of the lake to try and get out of the wind. Went to a common hybrid spot and dropped the live bait down. Hooked several hybrids in 18-22ft of water but I was too close to the trees and they broke me off. Went back up to cloud point and did some searching and didn’t see much. Went south to finger point in the wind and found a few roaming the points in 10-14ft of water. Catching them on slabs. It was def tough for me.

the last 3 trips we made out there it was brutal windy. But we have caught over 300 fish no big ones but plenty undersized and sand bass.
The boat i have is built for the big water so we were able to hang in there and catch a bunch. I will be glad when the wind dies a little

Very nice!!! Yea I’m in a 16ft tin can lol. I’m limited on the windy days, but still manage to find some where I can stay and fish. Nice boat you have there for sure!

Plano Keith, your Star is lot cleaner than mine. In full agreement with regard to the Nautic Star ability to handle high winds and big waves.
Lots of fish to clean !!

Hell I'm in a 22' Bluewave and if it's over 20-25mph I load ammo instead haha.

Thanks gborg and southtxangler22. I got the 227xts 2018 model, it is a big heavy boat. The trim tabs help cutting through the waves. It looks clean in the picture but there is so much fish poo and blood all in the inside that it is going to take 20 dollars worth of quarters to clean it LMAO. What really helps me with the spot lock is i got the 72 inch terrova and the motor stays in the water a lot better than the 60 inch.. Glad you got to get out and caught some southtxangler. Hopefully see you on the lake soon. The fishing should get better with the warmer weather. Now if we can only turn the wind down some. OMG
