We’ve just been through an interesting time as a country, and now that the statistics are proving what a lot of folks were saying about the insane overreaction, I’m curious what y’all thoughts are. It has been an eye opening experience for me. What were some of the most outrageous overreactions that y’all have seen through this Covid mess? I would say the worst thing I saw was folks on here calling the state to report guys for fishing a tournament. I saw much worse abuse of power, but this struck me as the most egregious and embarrassing moment from a demographic that I would have pegged as freedom loving patriots.

So it's over?
That's great news.

The hysteria is for the most part. At least in the world I live in. You still have the media stoking the flames but the world is opening back up

Too many to list, but the single most outrageous thing I've seen is the number of people who followed directions right off the cliff with the rest of the herd, willingly giving up their rights, and mostly, for wholehearted believing something (from the government) without question, and not using an ounce of common sense.

Summarized, common sense is in much lower supply than I thought, naivety running a close second.

Yeah that kinda scared me frankly. Never seen anything like that in my life.

I think the reaction was disproportionate with the threat.

I think we didn't have enough information to make an informed opinion so they went with the worst case scenario. We STILL don't have enough information because we don't know how many have been infected, what the reactions to it actually are, etc. All we are seeing are the most dire cases.

Were they right? Who knows. History will be a better judge than I. For now I'm still skittish and trying to be safe. I would like to grow old in my beautiful house.

The over reaction has been the length of the shut downs. The initial move to call a time out to gather medical supplies, stop a massive case spike, ramp testing capability, and better understand the virus was the right call. It undoubtedly saved a massive number of lives. That said, the pause should have been about 3 weeks not 3 months.

It makes folks uncomfortable, but actuaries have assigned a value to a human life. It's usually in the range of 6-10 million. What are we 7 trillion into this mess at this point? Probably on our way to 10 trillion? Let's assume we wind up losing 200,000, that would be 50 million a head. So in that sense, yes the government over reacted with the length of this shut down which has quadrupled what this thing should have cost us.

The worst I've seen? Michigan.

Overreaction and Trump was pushed into most of it

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.
