I currently use 6 lb fluorocarbon (seaguar red label). It does a good job but I had a friend with me last week using mr. crappie 4 lb camo. mono. What do y'all use?

I should have given those of you that fish a lot more detail. He actually caught fish for fish with me and he used the mono. and I used fluoro. Would y'alls experience say that the 4 lb comoflage mr. crappie line is the ticket, or what do you like?

I use 6lb mr. crappie hi viz and love it. You can see the lightest bites and it has good knot strength

I use 20# braid tied straight to the jighead, and don't loose too many due to broken line.

I would agree with you , but then we would both be WRONG !!!!!

I have been using the 6 lb Mr Crappie Hi Vis this spring also, and happy with it. Both vertical jigging and shooting docks.
Not saying that I have abused the line with an overload of crappie, but have been happy with it so far!
I had some 4 lb clear Stren, and broke off a few times. I also tried some 12 lb braid, but had a couple of fish rub dock poles and break off. Seemed that the tiny light braid was worse to rub and break vs mono? Vertical it was good to pull hung jigs free, but not on dock poles. 6 lb seems to be a better balance for me so far.

I use Mr. Crappie 6# Hi-vis for shooting docks and jigging brush piles. I will drop to 4# if using a 3/32 oz jig because I can shoot farther with it, however, if you have a big fish on you don't want to lift it out of the water (lip it or use a net). Far as fighting the fish, the 4# works well. If it's a really knarly brush pile I have a pole rigged with 10# braid. Crappie don't seem to be line shy here in East Texas as our waters are quiet stained. If you're using super clear line I bet your missing hits. You wouldn't believe how many fish I catch because I saw the line jump but never felt the thump.
To whom much is given, much is required.

Switched all my spinning gear to yellow Power Pro braid a dozen years ago. I’ll never go back.

switched from mr. crappie to vicious hi vis. Similar to Mr crappie with a lot less memory. 6 lb suits most my crappie needs
4 lb would suffice if not to much brush

I’ve been using Trilene XL green for a long time and it seems like better quality stuff than a lot of the other mono lines I’ve tried.
