They wouldn't even let Chick-Fil-A in the Airport for the same hate reasons. What's the point of having a business in the airport that's going to be closed on one of the busiest travel days of the week? They have them in airports elsewhere, such as DFW. What’s the point of caring about something you disagree with in the first place and has no burden on your life? It’s their business and you’re free to eat there or not; they’re free to have a restaurant or not. That’s what used to be great about this country.

Whenever I read this kind of stuff I always laugh at the stupidity of the people who are elected into public office. In this case, they make a racist assumption that referring to the nation of China means a reference to people of Chinese ethnicity when, in fact, there are millions of people other than ethnic Chinese who live there. For example, if we said English virus would that be referring to the Anglo, Pakistani, East Indian, or other ethnic groups that make up large population blocks in England? Would calling it the Canadian virus refer to the 50+ major ethnic groups there?
The point is, the SA City Council and other groups like them are making racist assumptions in order to cry racism. In essence, they are saying any reference to the nation of China is akin to saying Yellow Peril. Typical socialist nonsense since we have plenty of Asian racist names we can use if we want to.

You get what you vote for. Just shows you the mind set of America in general when it comes to local politics. We have also had some real idiots in the national elections as well.

file:///Users/daddy/Downloads/Draft%20Resolution%20(1).pdf WHEREAS, COVID-19 is a public health issue, not a racial, religious or ethnic one, and the deliberate use of terms such as “Chinese virus” or “Kung Fu virus” to describe COVID-19 only encourages hate crimes and incidents against Asians and further spreads misinformation at a time when communities should be working together to get through this crisis; and There were 15 Whereas's in their resolution about hate speech. This is the one that mentioned the Chinese virus or Kung Fu. It was meant to address an increase in hate crimes that has risen during the pandemic.

I just don't get what San Antonio has become. I grew up 30 miles south of there and still have family that live in the area.
Always dreamed about moving back after the kids graduate but may have to rethink that whole thing... Smart move nothing but flaming liberals running this crooked sanctuary city.
