 Yamaha HPDI problem

I think with your help ou there, I may have found the problem. I found a large water filter near the transom, I got it off and found it was about 33% water, it also had rust and other [censored] floating on the solution I had put in a clear glass bottle. That has led me to change the Mystery filters on the injectors and replace the the water separator located on top of the engine, plus the filter on the side of the engine. Waiting on parts to finish the job and to get back on the lake. Thanks for your help!

thanks for the post. just reminded me to order a new water separator filter for mine. amazon will have it here Wednesday. glad you got yours figured out!!

After reading your post I ordered all new filters except the water filter near the transom you found which I do not see on Yamaha parts diagram. Am I just missing seeing it ? Curious where you ordered it from.

I bought a Yamaha 10 micron water separator. looks like an oil filter on the gas line. should be mounted on something solid so it can be twisted on/off. amazon has them for ~$25 shipped

I just listed a bunch of HPDI filter in the classified section if any of you guys are interested. HPDI filters, pump, etc.

Are the water separator filters universal or do I need to crawl under there and find out which one I have? I have been meaning to change mine for 6 months. This post was a good reminder.
