Taking my daughter down to the pond at 1:00 AM tonight. She wants to try late nite topwater frog fishing under the full moon. The kid's getting to be a good fishin' buddy. I'll post results later.

Well, after a couple of hours of fun, we had no bites. We only had the sounds of Bullfrogs and Barred Owls and the chance to spend some quality father-daughter time together. Hope we can do it again tonight..

Quality time is what fishing is all about, catching fish is somewhere down the line, great night to be out!

Have her throw a black buzzbait at night. She will get more bites. Good luck.

fishing a the day of the full moon can be good but mostly bad until around noon, when those fish that ate all night wake up and get hungry again.

like hdvs said throw black colored noisy baits during the full moon.

My daughter is 28 and still remembers all the fishing trips we went on. She told me that she now understands that it wasn't about the fishing but about quality time that we spent.

That's good stuff right there. My youngest (21) just brought up a favorite memory of ours yesterday.
Back in the day I would tell the boy's that we were going fishing at The "crack of dawn"!
Needless to say Bradley got a little older and one day he said.... Daddy this aint the crack of dawn?
My oldest (25) and myself couldn't control our laughter when we realized he thought the "crack of dawn" was a place.
I guarantee you he wasn't more than 6 at the time.... Keep making those memories but also keep them alive for reflection down the road!

Thank you for the post but more importantly thank you for spending time with your little girl.

Couldn't tryout that black buzzbait tonite. We got back at 12:30 AM from a round trip to DFW that included a total of 400 miles and 2.5 hrs parked on I-30 behind a car accident. We went up there to pick up an 8 week old English Setter puppy that was flown in from a kennel outside Seattle. She's going to be our third buddy in the boat. It's 3 AM and my kid still has a grin on her face. No sleep tonite.
