Sandlin. My parents live there and its the least crowded lake I've ever seen. Even on Memorial day and 4th of July you pretty much have the place to yourself.

Not many folks mentioning Rayburn or Toledo. Rayburn would be my choice because there are no private docks. It's much prettier without them.

Toledo Bend. Lots of sentimental reasons, but no other Texas lake compares to it to me. I've been going there since I was just out of diapers, and the dam was built on the Sabine. I Love it up there.

All I want in life is a place on Lake Fork.

I live on Rayburn and love it here. Lake is big enough that I can fish anytime during the week and never have to worry about it being crowded.

We had Palestine and Richland Chambers on our list in order to not be near as many crowds. Any opinion on those?

I wanted to retire on Fork but considering my wife's social needs and where we would spend time shopping and eating out etc., I chose Lake Tyler East in particular. Now it is not as good a bass lake as others but I guess it is good enough. When I purchased my property and before I built the house there was a good raft of hydrilla in the lake around my dock. I'm thinking that was 2012 or 2013. TPWD killed it all off.
When I lived in in Tyler between 1990/2000 the lakes had periods of hydrilla growth and the fishing was awesome on some of the shallow humps off some of the points. I had fun with a Carolina Rig. My neighbor who built in 2013 thinks he may have been the first to call the authorities to spray the hydrilla. He hated it!

Just sold two prime lots on Fork for $140,000 each. I've got two left. 903-440-0306.

We had Palestine and Richland Chambers on our list in order to not be near as many crowds. Any opinion on those? Palestine, better bass fishing and fewer meth heads, chambers will also get sucked down quicker in a drought than Palestine go look at historical aerials lots of dry dock there on many years and a two occasions they stayed dry for a long time.
