I would agree. I have not heard of anyone catching them in 2 foot of water.

Just because you have not "heard" of anyone catching them in 2 feet spawning on Hubbard does not mean it is not happening.

And as usual I would say the first two weeks April were prime time at Hubbard this year, been catching them really good 1-2.5 feet of water since end of March.

Today: Two younger guys fishing in kayaks limited out today in Lavon fishing in 2-2.5' of water. Another pair of old farts had a stringer of huge slabs caught right up next to the bank in the mouth of a creek on the North end of Lavon.

We, unfortunately, fished most of the day in 20' water because the spawn is obviously over and we did not do so well. Most of the few we managed to get were full of eggs.

Iā€™m still catching a mix of pre and post spawn fish. Yesterday was mostly post spawn fish on Lake Arlington. Only a few females but caught lots of good sized healthy males. Fished 8ā€™-15ā€™ deep.
