How the heck do you get through? Son got lay-off and did online app but then told him to call. Has not gotten anyone on phone. I’m sick of this nonsense. J D

They're overloaded with traffic. Sorry about his lay off. His new full time job is calling them all day every day. He'll get through eventually.

Earlier is better. They're open 7 days a week 7 to 7...or try calling local office.
Good luck to your son. Several of my friends have had to do it. Some have been easy as 1-2-3, others...not so much

If he can't do it online, it will be almost impossible.
It's been that way since April 1st.

What until midnight, it lessens up
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Trying to get in touch with the Texas Employment Commission was tough even before the recent shut-down.

It amazes me that people know that simple events like going to the grocery store has completely changed...World wide! You know the whole lock down, stay at home thing. But when they are at home and pick up the phone or do something online...this to them should be normal business as usual. Do you realize most of the phone stuff and online stuff...even government agencies are effected by this too? They are run and function by people.

I don’t know how many “government agencies” and bureaucrats you have came into contact with, but calling them people is definitely iffy, even before all this rona bs

Sorry for the job loss. Don’t get frustrated. I dialed 50 to 100 times a day for about 10 days before I got through. Speed dial and redial...
Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

Sorry to hear about the layoff. As others have said keep dialing and call the local number for the TWC office in your area.
Grateful for every sunrise and sunset I get to witness. - Jason

Persistence and viligance. It's a beat-down. It took forever for my SIL to get thru for any guidance/assistance and he is still trapped in a bureaucratic maze of disinformation. He's been at it since March 29th. It's Inexcusable and unforgivable how this situation is being mismanaged...

My last day was the 23rd of March and tried that week but couldn’t get through due to the lines being jammed I finely got through the next week online and then had to change my password that. I never received the email to finish updating my email however I did receive three letters all on the same day, one was my approval date, the next was a booklet and telling me when to call in, and I can’t remember what the third was. I don’t know why these couldn’t have all been sent in one envelope to save on cost but whatever.
About a week later I received a new letter with a new approval date which was earlier and said that they reviewed my case and this was the new date for benefits due to Covid-19. So on the date that I was to call in and request payment I did and it started asking when the last time I worked, if I had any vacation time, and if I had been paid for it. I guess I did something wrong because they requested e to call in and I tried and couldn’t get through. When I did finely get through I was told by a recording something to the effect that there was no need to to call at this time on my case and that they were over loaded with call and they would contact me if needed.
So at this time I have no idea what is going on with my case and will call in tomorrow requesting payment again and then wait until the end of the week for my bank statement to see if I have received payment since I don’t do online baking.
