I have a 2013 Mercury ProXS 250 and my alarm won't beep when you turn the key on. It does work some of the time but not all of the time. Any ideas ?

Check the horn/buzzer for proper function and check for loose wiring.

It should squeel if you try to start the boat without the kill switch inserted.

If it goes ahead and starts and runs fine it likely the little buzzer somewhere under the dash - that's what mine turned out to be - same motor

We have little bugs that love to build mud homes in the warning horns. And yes we have the bigger mud daubers too.

May not be your problem but I had an older Merc and a new key switch fixed it.
