In Texas if you have bass in a body of water then blue gill and channel cats are almost always there at minimum.

Crawfish

I was Crappie fishing under the Calvary rd bridge by Stowaway marina years ago and saw this guy breach the surface several times trying to spit out this 8+”Bluegill. He/She(3-3.5 lber) got tuckered out, was on the surface, so I paddled over and dislodged the 2 free. Both fish swam away great. Bass are predators and are gluttonous.

They eat soft plastics too. I caught her on the Z craw and pulled the red worm and Rage Craw out of her mouth.

Those other 2 baits don't look like they've been in her mouth long. Nice fish Dr. Bean!

I have seen bass jump two feet out of the water to get a dragonfly. Don't forget waterdawgs, tadpoles, tilapia, and rodents under a pound..

been amazed by size of bass vs lure, big ol 41/2 rapala & 3 or 31/4 in. bass. I remember as a kid fishing with uncle Shep on table rock, and he was regularly throwing{ some of ya'll may remember] the Rat like 5in topwater rat w/ glass eyes. I thought what's gonna eat That!! Boy did I have a eye opener, if they think they can eat it they will hit.

Several years ago, I was watching a pond being drained. I took a few bass home to eat, one of the bass had a Red Wing Blackbird in its stomach.

I can tell you they didn't eat anything I threw at them today

I caught a bass like that once....covered in 10 pounds of mat....got the trophy to remember it with too.
