This may be a silly question but. Are usually throw Street braid 50 pound test on a bait caster. I am wondering if 15 to 17 pound floral carbon is strong enough to use pitching? The one thing I love about Bradys I don’t have to worry about how hard I swing. I also don’t really have to worry about how the Drag. Is 15 to 17 pound for carbon very strong? I don’t know I just need some help. My biggest fear isthe one time I have lighter lineon and it’s a 12 pound bass just gonna snap it off.

I pitch with 15-20 lb flouro. I used to be all in on briad but hated the way it would dig into itself after a good hookset.

I would use 20# for flipping shallow cover, I caught one that was almost 10# on 15# floro last week, I was in a little deeper water, but I was worried about it, but there was no issue, I just took my time and played the fish a little more, but that is hard to do when you are close to the bank. I had one snap 17# test one day close to the bank, that line was the bass pro brand, the only time I have ever used that brand so it could have just been bad luck. It was a good one, got her to the boat, she did one more run and the line snapped. I use exclusively Seagar now - Invisix or abrasix

I use 25# any brand in close quarters like that. the abrasion alone in shallow cover will allow a 2lb to break you off if you dont check your line a bunch.

20# will save you a lot of anxiety when you hook a good one down in the branches of a laydown.

I use 18# Sunline FC Sniper flouro in most conditions. In really heavy grass or cover I will go up to 25#. For punching I use 30# braid.

IMO Trilend 100% flouro is the toughest one out there. i flip routinely wtih 15lb because its almost impossible to break. Try it!

Pitching with 15# fluoro, hope you don't mind retying a lot.

With pitching to thick cover, keep in mind it's not just the weight of the bass.

You might end up trying to haul in a 6lb bass wrapped around 15lb break strength lily pad stalks.

Heavy cover (falcon lake type) no less than 20 for me. Heavy deep hydrilla like on Amistad no less than 50 braid for punching.

Depending on depth and how thick the cover is I use 12, 16, or 20# Sniper. If super nasty brush then 50# braid
