Wind out of the NW at 15-20 (forecasted at 10). Greg, (Gordaskipper on 2cool fishing) met me at the Hanks Creek launch at 6:30am. Greg had never bass fished before and this was his first trip to Rayburn. I headed to a spot I've been steadily catching fish on. This is on a secondary point with a small amount of buck brush. The water is around 5 ft deep that sharply drops into 20-25. Bass seem to be gorging themselves on shad. Find the shad and you'll find fish nearby. I caught a dink right away and about ten minutes later Greg has something pretty large on. I thought he'd inadvertently hooked a large catfish at first because this thing was running him all over the boat and taking drag. I finally was able to net the fish...22 1/2 inches and about 6lbs. Not bad for his first bass! (didn't have a scale) We put her in the livewell for photos later in the day. I caught two 3lb fish back to back and Greg caught two sizable white bass. We ended the day at 11:30 with about 15 fish even though it was high pressure and bluebird skies. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/04/full-90367-48566-img_6302.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/04/full-90367-48567-img_6307.jpg)

Very nice fish. Thanks for taking a new to fishing guy out. Hope that 6 lb. fish gets him hooked on fishing. Nice report and thanks for sharing.
