Called up an old high school friend about a month ago. We fished and hunted like there was no end when we were still in school. Saw him fishing with Allen Warren on Fox Sports about a month ago. Had'nt heard from him in aout 10 years. It turns out, Charles Haralson is one of the most knowledgeable fishermen on South Texas and Mexico lakes . He fishes and guides in Zapata, Tx (Falcon Lake) and down in Mexico. Charles and I went fishing back on May 10th down in Zapata. The largest was 9lbs 8 ounces that day. Returned her to fight another day. Caught between 80 to 100 fish that day, with a fish average weight of 5 - 6 lbs. This was an awsome trip. We brushed up on the past / old times and our current lives since high school. Story does'nt end yet. It gets better. Charles invited me to come down and fish the South Texas 5 bass tournament with him this last weekend at Falcon lake. Final results, we won 1st place with 33.67 lbs. This has to be one of the best fishing trips of a lifetime for me.The memories that will be cherished from this trip are undescribable. Talking about being spoiled. Charles stated;" his clients catch as many fish, as we did that day and pretty much all the time." Fish upwards of 10 plus pounds is not uncommen. If you want one of the most enjoyable fishing trips and great hospitality, don't hesitate to give Charles Haralson a call. Below are some links to the pictures that were posted on the Falcon Lake Tackles website for the 9 lb 8 ounce bass, as well as, the South Texas 5 bass tounament this last weekend. Enjoy!!!
