The whites are back on the points and humps near creek bends. They were smaller (12-13" average), probably because the bigger ones may still be up the creeks and coming back from the spawn. We had to put the thumper to work to keep them around. For the most part, they are moving, so the bites were occurring as they came through, and stuck around for 10-15 minutes before moving on; then wait for the next school. Having Livescope also helped adjust our techniques to hook them. I had to keep this bass and gaspergoo because they swallowed the spoon, and were going to die. We limited out on 2 boats (kept it 2 short just to be sure!). Video is being put together showing you the Livescope view. It was the first time I've fished in 5 weeks; so it was just good to get back on the water for the thump. [Linked Image]

Holy Mackerel !! There is nothing that fights like a gaspergoo.. That is always a treat.. That is the biggest goo I have seen In a long time... Thought I won a tournament one year until I saw it come up, but still always a good surprise. I think it's good luck to catch them.. Thx for sharing

We caught about 5 of those. One about 8 pounds. We are excited until we see its color, then all the excitement turns into disappointment. But they're fun for 30 seconds of heart pounding! Thanks for your insight!

I have met a few people who like to eat them. Do you like them? Glad to see the thumper is working. I used mine last week and it was critical to keeping fish around and worked better than just my splasher alone...

I gave it to a friend who was supposed to prepare the Gaspergoo yesterday. I'll follow-up.

That's a great tip, I only have a few hours this evening, so I think I'll use your advice to narrow my search!

Yes the goo is good food. I clean them along with the rest of the legal fish I catch. I grew up the opposite of money yes no money so we welcomed a meal.

Nice! It’s a great white meat it just is firm and cooks faster than the striped fish if you fry it

Some say it’s very much like saltwater black drum, which I eat, and like. Thanks
Tim

Agree. Goo-fish is fine eating and no more bones than a white bass. They eat a lot of clams & mussels instead of minnows which is what I think enhances the taste. Same rules as catfish tho, throw back anything over 5 lbs.

Anyone ever cut the pretty white rocks, out from behind their eyes? I had a set about as big as a half dollar back in the seventies.
