I fish all along Bachman Lake often for largemouth bass. I’ve had a decent amount of success fishing the rip rap and stuff like that. The last few times I’ve been out here I have seen a ton of Gar and caught no bass. They are right along the shore where you would think the bass would be bedding. I probably saw 30 tonight along Lakeshore in about an hour of fishing. I’m worried they are overrunning the lake, has anyone else had a similar experience?

They are mating right now. That's normal. They'll go back out in a few weeks.

No major problem. Its a yearly mating/spawn ritual. In the meantime try the cypress tree line by the recreation center. Good bass fewer gar
