A new 9mm, under $700, what would you get. I'm partial to the single/double actions, but the choices are limited. no glock.

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

I've tried them. Not a fan. Too light. This isn't a carry gun, but more of a range gun.

Bob the Sig P239 SAS is a great handgun. It has great reviews on every gun forum. I have one and like the decocker and the hammer down while carry makes it very safe for IWB (inside the waistband) holsters. I wouldn't take anything for mine. It is not my only carry but I like it very much. I paid closer to $900 and some change for it, but you may find one cheaper. I like SS slide, no rust, but the black finish is great also.
