Anyone have any good suggestions for camping and fishing (wading) in Northern Arkansas? I know the Eureeka Springs area is really nice but everything I am finding says that you really need a boat to fish the White River?

There are parts of the White that are most definitely wade-able. Starting around Cotter the river begins to widen and shallow up a bit. You do have to be aware of the generation schedules though. Also if you are taking your kids, look into Dry Run Creek. It is a little creek that feeds into the Norfork River just below the dam. The creek is C&R only and only open to kids under 16, or disabled people. They protect this water fanatically, and so there are some of the biggest trout you will ever see that live in there. There are stretches that you can practically walk across and step only on the backs of 20+ inch trout. Even if you are camping far away from there, it is worth an afternoon drive to go check it out.

Thanks guys! I dont think AR is allowing tent camping right now so I am going to postpone that and just rented a cabin in Broken Bow.
I see that the fly shop is closed though so going to have to grab some flies before leaving dallas. Anyone fished the Lower Mountain Fork recently and have suggestions?

If you wanted to wade you’re best off going on up to taneycomo.

Same old same old for flies, zebra midges, eggs, San Juan worms, and wooly buggers. Put and take stocker trout will eat about anything you put in front of them.

The LMF is a great chance to fish flies you have been meaning to try but never have. If you need to gain confidence in a new fly, tie it on and find a wad of hungry fish. Of all the trips I have made there they have only been picky on a few of them. Generally they will always eat an olive woolly bugger or zebra midge.
