I have had a bunch of people ask me that question. I am told you need to find the sweet spot. I spent all winter looking and never found it on my boat.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Try a medium high to high speed. I would try it over one of our pontoons close to your transducer then turn to about 60-90 beats per minute. You should see fish begin to gather within 1-5 minutes...
