I was on your side with everything til you said there’s no vaccines for respiratory viruses..... there will be a vaccine for covid 19 as well. There is no vaccine for Sars and that is covid 1.... The virus is covid 2.. I do not think they will find one but people way smarter than me will figure it out..

A vaccine isn’t the end all be all. Lots of things at play. Everyone said the same things about H1N1, there’s a vaccine for that, I’ve never met anyone that’s gotten the vaccine and you never hear about H1N1 in the US anymore. Rising temperatures and herd immunities are going to put a huge dent in covid 19 in the next couple of weeks. You need 70% infection/recovery rates to get herd immunity. They believe the highest infection rate in any region right now is likely NYC at 15%. So we are a long way off from herd immunity. No great evidence on rising temps impacting the virus, we'll have to wait and see on that one. I do think you'll see infection rates drop in the coming days due to the impact of social distancing. However, I believe you'll see regions start to reopening in the next week or two as well which will fire things back up. We can't stay closed down forever. It'll be a pump the breaks strategy until we get a vaccine or herd immunity. Both of which are a long way off. Odds are most of us are going to get our turn in the barrel with this virus sooner or later. The longer you can put that off as an individual the better the chance they'll have found some therapies/medications that lessen the impact of the virus. (everything above is my personal opinion, take it for what it is. I am not a medical expert) Interesting study: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2009316Dang it, all this time I thought you were an expert on Covid 19, sure had me fooled, lol.

Anatomically/genetically speaking, they’re very different. Not saying that means there 100 percent will be a vaccine, but just because SARS doesn’t have one doesn’t mean covid 19 won’t either.

I don’t know about you guys but one thing that's been really reassuring for me in all of this, is how many epidemiologists and genetic scientists that we have lurking on this board. It's a staggering number and followed very closely by attorneys with a practice focus on constitutional law. We are in really good hands here.

I’ll say in all seriousness that I was going to fish. I really was curious what people thought about Media putting on their bass tournaments, and it’s been some interesting reads. But I did it more out of boredom just to get the fishing nerds fired up at their computers. But I saw Dirk talk on the news last night, I see the governor closing state parks, and in totality don’t think it’s a good idea. And I’m a Trump loving, hands off government supporting person who thinks everything is a conspiracy! I’m just leaning on the Virus doesn’t spread itself, people do. So as much as I love to be a hypocrite, I think the smart thing to do to keep them from closing lakes all together is to stay home. There’s 43 pre registered right now. That’s a minimum of 86 people in one spot. And will end up being 100+ easy. And that’s why it keeps spreading. And that’s why they won’t let [censored] reopen like normal!!!
