 Champion Creek Reservoir?

I thought I read online that this place was shut down to boats, anyone know if you can access it by a kayak. Wanted to make a day trip with my son. We tried oak creek last weekend without too much luck. Appreciate the reply

You need a permit to be on the water and they are not selling permits. My friend tried last week.

Last I heard from Ty, they had completely closed the lake to everyone for safety precautions. Not sure when it will open back up. That's a bummer Oak Creek didn't treat you well, that lake is one of my favorites to fish. If you're on facebook, check out the kayak anglers of west texas group. There are a bunch of yakkers out west who are pretty good about sharing information for lakes to fish.
