If I was a driver I would avoid e-racing like the plague. Unfamiliar territory for many and the risk/reward doesn’t add up to me. I would sit it out and wait for real racing to start up.

These guys' sponsors are starting to ask questions. The drivers and the teams are in a tough spot - these sponsors want the exposure.

E-racing isn’t the issue. Thousands of people play e-sports. Millions of people play video games online. A hundred athletes more famous than Kyle Larson have been live streaming themselves playing video games for years.

I have never seen the benefit of agreeing to be micd up during any sport. Driving in a race, on the sidelines of a football game, on the basketball court, fishing in a tournament....you put yourself at risk. Slip up one time and say something inappropriate In the heat of the moment and destroy your career and you gain nothing for agreeing to do it. Just take that possibility out of the mix.
