I found some old baits. Never have fished. Bought as a lot. Do any of you throw these? Hog craw? ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/04/full-29760-46592-img_20200410_160026.jpg)

Haven't thrown one that I know of. But it looks pretty good, I'd give it a shot and throw it.

The 4 inch salt craw used to be the bomb!!! They've long been replaced with other craw options. I never used the 6 inch hawg craw much. FYI... You can cut it in half and use it as a chunk trailer...

Looks like it would do very well for punching mats.

Heck ya! Was a real common bait on Fork years ago. On a big ole jig? Big bass bait!

Those are some fish catching sons of guns! Been years since I have thrown one. I still have several bags of them laying around somewhere.

Used them a ton over the years! Really big deal back in the 90's and early '00's. Think the Oklahoma state record for awhile was caught on one of those. I bet I still have at least a dozen bags of those and the 4" model.
Another one that looks really similar to the Hawg Craw was made by Jawtec. Think the Jawtec version was called a Classic Craw. It had almost the same profile but was super beefy. I bet it was twice as thick and heavy as the Hawg Craw. I still have a few of those but most got eaten by the fish.

With out a doubt i would throw it. That bait has fooled plenty of big fish at Fork.

Still fish the 4" on Rayburn and Toledo and it'll outfish a lot of the craws with swimming type legs. Sometimes less is more. I throw the big one at Falcon with a 1/2 oz sinker. When the fish are tight in the retamas, it'll get down in there better than a Rage craw. Caught some bigguns doing that.
