Funny how all the videos of New York’s empty trauma centers/ hospitals show what’s really happening now New York went from predicting into the worst 2 weeks of cases / deaths to leveling off. No rise in cases the last couple days

New York also saying we don’t need any more ventilators after all the rant needing 100,000 ventilators. All this with 2 days of those videos coming out

I really don't see anything funny about any of this. Hopefully things start getting better instead of worsening.

I don't either. As of this morning 12 NYPD officers have died from the virus and 20% of the force is currently out sick. Over 2,700 in the city have died and nobody really knows if they've reached their apex yet.

How many need to die for it to become serious?

I'll give the benefit of the doubt, "funny" = strange rather than funny - humorous. But I agree, there's very little "funny" in the pandemic.

Your not hearing what i am saying. Look at the actual videos last week how the new york hospitals look. Its a ghost town. Nobody inside. Nobody standing in line. But the media says people standing in line 4 hours. Also media says hospitals look like a war zone. Videos on news show 2 or 3 bodies. Nothing to support 700 bodies a day.

For being the epicenter with 1200 news cases a day per the media it shouldnt look like a ghost town at multiple new york hospitals like videos show

I'm a pessimist. Just had the 14 year old read a book about the Spanish flu, then asked him whether this particular bug could behave in a similar way.

Yes, I think it's funny in a "isn't this strange?" way.

Those videos are known to be actively being pushed around by Russia and China as disinformation. They are trying to convince American's the virus is a big hoax to create internal strife and get as many people infected as possible. Cheapest way they can weaken their enemy.

What those video's show is empty waiting rooms. The waiting rooms in virtually all hospitals are empty now. Nobody in their right mind is going to a hospital right unless they are on their death bed. Those empty lines at the testing stations? Isn't it possible they went there after hours? None of those video's were date or time stamped. None of those video's show the ICU rooms.

Everyone knows a doctor. Call the one you know and ask them if this whole thing is a hoax.

Almost 5,000 dead in NYC, with more to come.

The virus is real. The world isn't coming to an end. This too shall pass. Probably like a kidney stone, but it will pass.

There are 86,000 ICU beds in the US. There are something like 6,100 hospitals. That means on average each hospital has on average 14 ICU beds. Some big hospitals have more, some small hospitals have less. So how many sever cases of COVID-19 does it take to swamp the average hospital in the US? 15. You don't need lines out the door and bodies in the street like the walking dead on AMC. You need 15 really sick people who all happen to be in the same area. With 367,000 cases nationally it's amazing it's not happening more often. Truly a testament to our nation's heroes in the medical field.

Anymore than 14 and they start to run short of beds or ventilators, or staff. They are left scrambling. It's nobody's fault, but at that point quality of care drops and mortality rate climbs. Maybe that's no big deal to you, but it might be if you or your loved one was the 15th patient who needed an ICU bed.

I’m going with AWESOME news!! That’s great if they aren’t going to be as bad off as forecasted. Maybe we are turning a corner on this deal.

Funny how people think? Hopefully we will be successful in not over running the hospitals and medical staff. That will be success and not over reacting. To think that just because a hospital is not over run means we have over reacted is ludicrous.

So you’re disappointed that only 5,000 people in the state have died, half of those in New York City. More than 120,000 residents have tested positive, and more than 16,000 are hospitalized.

Some overwhelmed hospitals are sending home people who are in less dire shape, but whom they would admit in normal circumstances.

That’s not enough death and chaos for you?

Some of his post has an actual basis although his numbers are off some. NY Gov. Cuomo has frequently ranted about the POTUS not supplying him (his state) with 40,000 ventilators, nor providing his state more hospital facilities. Looks like the NY curve could be flattening (as it did in Wash. State) way short of Cuomo's stated needs.

This is a good thing.

I feel the rants were more of an attack on the Federal Government than factual. Just like the rant by Cuomo that NY didn't get enough of the $2.2T stimulus money.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
