Not normal. Where is your transducer mounted? Is this a new issue or have you always had it?

New issue. Brand new active imaging transducer. Its located just to the right of the drain plug and livewell holes. What is interesting to me is it is the same on both sides, that would mean that the motor isnt in the way to me I would think. I was told by a friend that it may be a settings or interference issue.

Just for grins as a test, put the motor up into tilt to be sure to get it completely out of the way. Then move the boat forward in a straight line with the TM to simulate outboard idle best-case at the transom. Look at the results from that experiment and report back. Have you tried adjusting the sensitivity? (which is really transmit power amplitude)? If you are transmitting too high of a signal, you can get ringing that is effectively echo returns that will confuse the unit's interpretation of what's out there. Also try stepping down the sensitivity, both with the outboard tilted out and not.

Did you go into settings and change the transducer type after you installed it? If not, you need too. Will most likely fix your problem.

That is the cross-talk anomaly between Down Scan and Side Scan. Humminbird SI units does it also but not as severe as Lowrance. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/SsZjY7g4/S00126.png)

No need to select transducers with active imaging. It does it automatically when it is hooked up. In fact, its not even a selection.
How do you eliminate the cross talk?

How do you eliminate the cross talk? You cannot, just have to realize what it is if you run Down Scan and Side Scan at the same time. With Humminbird SOLIX units you can turn off Down Imaging so it doesn't cross talk with Side Imaging or select a different frequency. Don't know if Lowrance units have that capability.

I would suggest trying 455, instead of 800. Maybe that wider scan would dilute the cross talk/blending. Could also be a culprit of a certain update, it happens sometimes.

Is this dark spot normal on each side of the side scan? And I am not talking about the void below the boat Try a different color

A different color doesn't correct interference just as lipstick doesn't make a pig look pretty.
