Finally got to take my grandson to CC yesterday , we fished from 7:30 to 1:45 , First stop we ran the locator over Pitts Point , no fish , second stop was Flag Pole Point , lots of fish , 14-15 Fow , grandson turned on the thumper and started catching fish . We were fishing the #4 Mepps vertical , once the Mepps got to the bottom we would turn the reel handle 1 to 2 times back to the boat , coming off the bottom vertical seemed to work best for us yesterday. 44 fish , some small , most were good fish. Third stop was East Hump 14-15 Fow , some fish showing on locator , decided to stop , we caught 10 fish , time to find another spot , nothing on the swing set hump . Next stop , St Anne's East, no fish , the wind was starting to pick up so we went to check out a couple spots at the damn area . Next stop was Campbell's Hump , no fish , started back down the lake to Key Ranch Drop Off and Key Ranch North , to windy at these spots , since my grandson was in the boat. Started back to the dam area to get out of the wind . Decided to stop at Pole Dance Point, side scan out to 60 feet loaded with fish and bait , lots of females , 14-15 to 18.4 Fow , #4 Mepps , vertical presentation , same as second stop. This stop would yield over 60 fish , some were caught casting out . Great day with the grandson . All fish were caught and released ,

Awesome day making lasting memories for you both! Although I live just the other side of Seagoville, I've never fished CC, but think I'll have to do that real soon.... smile

Finally made it out today.

Could not find fish north of the spillway.

White bass were good on points in 13-17 fow by the dam. Trolling or pitch and retrieve were both productive.

I echo that I cannot find fish from Merimac Point north. The water is more stained up there and may be the main reason. Fishing remains good on the south end. There was a boat show south of Crappie Island yesterday. Just before sunset I eased out to see why and found surface schooling fish. I caught 3 big whites and a 21 inch hybrid in the 1st few casts, but was just out giving my bride a boat ride, so we headed back in shortly. We have been catching good numbers of whites on main lake points and humps in 14 to 18 fow from Crappie Island south and east. I'm still using #4 silver Mepps but see folks catching on slabs.
