if it is indeed a freshwater drum and under 20 pounds you start by fileting it down to the bone. Then skin it and take the slabs of white meat, put them on your grill with some lemon pepper and you will enjoy a really fine meal.
Don't over cook.

If it is indeed a largemouth bass congratulations. If it is under 13 take a couple of scales and send it in to participate in the SAL program, but if it is over 13 then call them to come and get it for breeding.
It's babies could contribute to future SAL's in over 10 lakes.
