raining at 4:30am did not want to fish...client wasnt thilled about the rain either....called it off could not go back to sleep at 6 am called him back the rain had let up we decided to go fishing...got to the ramp at 7:15 am the sandies were schooling at the ramp we put the boat in and limited out right there ....at 8:15 am put the boat back on the trailer and cleaned the fish back home at 9am....couldnt get any better than that! felt kinda bad that it ended so soon and that we didnt go far but my client said he didnt pay for a boat ride he paid for me to put him on fish! I like that attitude ! we caught about 75 all on storm baits and afew on the trailer hooks for doubles!also met some guys at the ramp from paradise they did well around rattlesnake island they had about 35 keepers....the fish were schooling there also...going back out in the morning if anyone is going to be out there lust give me a call and if Iam on them i will let you know!

metalman,
you bet ! I had a hot tip at the ramp from some cat fishermen ..
they went up the river and caught 50 channels ....thought about going after some myself ..do you have a boat or are you bank fishing?

Sorry for the long no reply. We are in between boats now, but I am using my inlaws pontoon.
I figured we would hit the river, I had talked to someone last week and they had about the same report. Thanks for the help.
Good luck.

Hey Brother Terry,

What is the water clarity at BP? I haven't been up there in a year or so. Has this rain got the water muddy?

Water is muddy at the river and creeks, but the main lake is just stained. The lake is only 5 ft. low and still rising slowly!

I could'nt help but comment.
Saturday I decided to go out and try some sandies, then just as I stepped in the boat my phone rang. It was my father telling me he was at jasper creek and the creek was running. I had a hard descion to make.. Catfish or Sand Bass?? Humm I figured I could always catch sandies but a chance at fishing jasper creek does'nt come often. So off I went and three hours later not a fish. The creek was running really fast. But the next day we went a caught about 40-50 cats there. I never did make it "on the lake" for sandies. I did'nt see Keith on the lake either. It was just a crappy weekend for weather and good fighing.
