Not my first high performance rig. The zx 250 I traded in ran 76 with the trim up. But this boat has the same exact load out and when you trim up for speed you can hardly turn the steering wheel. I figured if I could get close on the jack plate setting I could get the rest lined out. I just added the hyd jackplate. When I carried the boat over to have it installed the mechanic asked if I had moved the manual plate because it was way to high from the factory

Thanks mr Harper that is the info I was looking for. If I trim up past half way on the gauge. The boat is really stiff to steer. I will play with it some more when i can get back on the water. Some one told me ten on the jackplate gauge was close to factory setting

Trim is not for controlling steering pressure. The jackplate is probably way too high. Set the the anti-cavitation plate level with the bottom of the hull when the trim has that plate in line with the bottom of the hull. That would be a very rough start, but probably a lot better than where you currently have it.
