They are biting first thing in the morning at Birch. By 9:30 the bite had significantly slowed down. The end of the pier as well as the lake side was the most productive. The pier is closed, but the jetty leading up to it is open. Get there well before daylight, as the prime spots are taken up by the boats early. I arrived with my kayak 20 min before daylight (Saturday), and there were already 3 boats hoarding the pier. A few were being caught off the jetty. Jigs and minnows both were productive, although the jigs held the slight edge.

Honestly I don’t know why the boaters are taking up any spots as I leave that for folks who doesn’t have a boat. JS

That’s the way it is right now. Sometimes it can become very ugly. Boaters and folks on the bank can have some very hot and loud conversation over who is there first. Honestly I don’t know why the boaters are taking up any spots as I leave that for folks who doesn’t have a boat. JS

That’s for bank fishers as a boat is made to get out there and find them pigs. JS. Happy fishing.
