Debating on pulling the trigger on an Xtasy 723. Would use it for weightless soft plastic presentations (5"-7" Senkos, Clouts, Trick Sticks, etc). Currently fish NRX (853, 854) and GLX almost exclusively (803, 853, 854, 843MBR, 894) for all of my "feel" presentations....jigs, t rigs, worms, and currently senkos. However the Sportsmans 40% off sale has me thinking about a lighter weight specific rod. Anyone use the 722 Xtasy for Senkos? Thoughts of that vs NRX? Don't really "need" a new rod but also love a good deal....thoughts?

Just my opinion, but you might be overthinking/overspending on a weightless senko presentation rod. If your Loomis rods cast a senko with distance and accuracy, stay with that. 90% of the time you are just feeling a little weight or watching your line move before you set the hook, so the extra sensitivity of the Xtasy might not be worth the $$ ?

If you are gonna use it A LOT. buy it. Nothing makes fishing more enjoyable than using top of the line gear. Lightweight and hassle free.

Thank you Dances and Steez. You think the Xtasy is more sensitive than the NRX?

I have both the NRX and the Xtasy. Both are very sensitive and I like fishing with both, but I will give the edge to the NRX. The Xtasy is the BEST looking of the two rods.It has the better guides and I like its cork handle better.

Thank you for the feedback. I sent an email into the Dobyn's website and actually got a call back from Gary! Super engaging and nice guy. That is simply crazy customer service!! We chatted about rods and fishing for a bit. Going to buy a rod if for no other reason than that is how you do business! Will update once I get it and get the stick on the water.

I would go with the 743, they are also great with flukes.

I use both the 743 Extreme and 744. I like the 744 better case a country mile.
