To the OP, this is a nice idea. It is a shame that only when we realize that we cannot do it ourselves do we turn back to God. We have spent decades removing God from as many aspects of America as possible. Then when things go bad, we want to say God help us, God bless us.

There is nothing in the word of God that says this earth will be good. It does not say, follow me and I will bless you on this earth. Paul suffered here for Christ, his reward is not of or in this earth. He was not constantly punishing his people. His people were constantly turning from him and suffered the consequences of their actions. Same with Adam and Eve. He gave them perfection. Heaven on earth. They literally walked with God and what did man do? He turned from God and looked to his own understanding. Look how that worked out for us. Man turns from God and mocks him daily. He shall not be mocked. We pick our path, we pick our judgement. It amazes me that we actually believe we are not responsible.

Luke 6:22-23

22 Blessed are you when people hate you,
when they exclude you, insult you,
and slander your name as evil
because of the Son of Man.

23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. Take note—your reward is great in heaven, for this is the way their ancestors used to treat the prophets.

Gotta agree.

Paul certainly didn't.

Yes he did, after death he was in Paradise.

Just a reminder, things got so bad once that God said he was sorry he even created man so along came the great flood and only 8 people and a bunch of animals survived. But God did say he would never flood the earth again. Now there are many other ways to punish man for disobedience and God has control over all of them. This virus could accomplish the same thing the flood did but IMO I don't think this is God's plan. I don't have a clue what God's plan is or how it all ends but it will end.

Keep Your Eyes On The Prize

PHILIPPIANS 3:14 KJV 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

What will really matter at the end of your life on earth?

Will what you are giving attention to now still be important then?

Or, will you be filled with regret for what you did -- or didn't do?

Distractions abound. TV, phone calls, web sites, books, movies.

It might be a good idea to stop and evaluate how you are investing your time.

1 CORINTHIANS 9:24 NIV 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Run to win. Win what?

The true prize is to know God intimately and be His friend.

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18 NIV 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

One day, possibly soon, you will stand before God. Why not order your life now based on that "final reckoning?"

A wise person would not invest everything in something temporary. A wise person invests in something that will last.

Invest your life wisely!

SAY THIS: Lord, help me to keep my eyes on what is important and lasting.

Deuteronomy 30:19–20 (NKJV): 19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

We're not promised a perfect life, only a perfect afterlife if we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.

I completely agree with your post and will also participate in the 8:00 p.m. moment of prayer each day.

Keep the Lord in your heart and keep your powder dry.

When all this started a few weeks ago, I was somewhat amazed that there was no public call from our leaders and especially VP Pence that we must also pray.
Not until just recently did I hear someone mention prayer.

Maybe that is telling where we are right now, in that we can't come to grips with who is really in control.

Just one more cast!
