I'm glad your friend has 333 years to pay off his hospital bill. He doesn’t as you know. But that is the payment he could afford at the time and they accepted it. They will eventually send his bill to a collection agency and he will have to file bankruptcy. My wife ran a large surgical clinic in the 90s and they would set up the same type of payments. Knowing that they would never receive the full amount. But they would receive a lot of money before they had to write off the debt. They only would send to a collection agency if the person stopped paying the debt. Also hospitals will try to renovate the payment every year or two with the patient.

I'm good with $100.00 a month for 333 years.
Better than my deductible with my health insurance plan and my 20% copay!
You guys are @$$ hats. You know I’m not speaking of someone with insurance.

Just had a sinking thought.
How many people are going to be ruined financially if / when they catch it and need help? How many will be turned away because they can’t afford treatment? It’s literally an instance of “your money or your life” If you have it you will not get turned away. In addition you cannot be turned away from any hospital if you cannot afford care if yiu have life threatening issues.

It amazes me that people either don’t know that medical care is available for anyone that needs it or just quote lib scare tactics to others. I have never even heard of a poor person being turned away untreated from any emergency room.

I have never even heard of a poor person being turned away untreated from any emergency room. I have transported thousands of patients to the hospital and many were nowhere near critical. Some with very minor complaints.....have yet to see anyone turned away. In addition it makes ZERO difference when you get there wgether you arribed by ambulance or POV. People think if you arrive by ambulance you get priority and are seen quicker. Not true either.

Like said above, anyone can get care, insurance or not. The states insurance covers the non paid. The thing you should worry about is if a non resuscitate order goes into effect due to lack of equipment in hospitals for corona patients

My apologies to the OP, but this is a non issue. Before the next election the Dems will have already added it to the list of what will be free.
Free college/Pay off college debt. Free housing. Free childcare. Free reparations. Free healthcare/pay off medical debt.
We could go on. Vote Dem and what is in your paycheck is all for you to enjoy.

It’s all free
Ephesians 4:4-6 KJV
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Yes, that was my original point reiterating your point. My apologies for trying to do so by addressing coach hark and you in the same post which was obviously confusing.
It is 2 in the morning. Fuzzy thinking is to be expected. At two in the morning it’s always about fuzzy stuff.
